About Our Course

Montebello Golf Course has a rich history that goes back to 1928, when it was built as an enterprising country club designed by Max Behr, (Golf Course Architect). In 1941 the City of Montebello purchased the course and is now proud of this opportunity to welcome you, the patrons from local and distant communities, to our Montebello Municipal Golf Course.

The 120 acre, 18-hole public championship course was remodeled in 1998-99 reopening on May 7, 1999. The remodel included the addition of 3 lakes all new greens, tees, bunkers and cart paths. Architects for the remodel were David Rainville and Gary Bye. Montebello Country Club is now recognized as one of the best municipal golf courses in Southern California.
Proper golf attire must be worn at all times/ Collared Shirts / No Metal Spikes.

Residents of Montebello and Senior Citizens may purchase Discount Golf Cards from the Finance counter at City Hall.

Holiday Schedule
Legal Golf Course Holidays will be the days observed for the following: New Year’s Day; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; Lincoln’s Birthday; President’s Day; Washington’s Birthday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Veteran’s Day; Thanksgiving Day; Day After Thanksgiving; Christmas Eve; Christmas Day; and additionally those holidays recognized by the City of Montebello per City Council Resolutions each year.

Course Alert:

On September 14, 2022, the Montebello City Council unanimously voted in favor of funding the Montebello Golf Course Improvement Project which will enhance the design, architecture, and functionality of the current golf course. The project will re-invent over 72 acres of the existing public golf course and expand hours of operation. The year-long renovations are projected to be complete by September, 2023.

Montebello Golf Course closes on September 26, 2022, and will remain closed until improvements are finished. For more information about this project, call (323) 887-4540.

PLEASE NOTE: The Home2 Suites and Hilton Garden Inn hotels remain open to the public as well as all facilities at the Quiet Cannon. Please plan your stay or event at any of these facilities as usual.
